Located on the Burrup Peninsula in Western Australia, Yara Pilbara Fertilisers operates one of the world's largest ammonia production facilities, producing approximately 850,000 metric tons annually. Established in April 2006, the plant supplies ammonia for domestic use and exports to markets in Korea, Indonesia, and Southeast Asia. Adjacent to this facility, Yara Pilbara Nitrates, a joint venture with Orica, produces technical ammonium nitrate essential for the mining industry. The site is also exploring renewable hydrogen and ammonia production to support the transition to cleaner energy sources.
