The Yaburara Heritage Trail offers a 3.5-kilometer self-guided walk through the Karratha Hills, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the Yaburara Aboriginal people. Along the trail, visitors can discover over 10,000 ancient rock engravings and artifacts, providing insight into the area's history dating back thousands of years. The path features steep ascents and descents, requiring a good level of fitness, and offers panoramic views of Karratha and Nickol Bay. The trail begins near the water tanks overlooking the town center, accessible via Karratha Road, Dampier Road, or the parking area on Dampier Road. It's recommended to wear appropriate footwear, carry plenty of water, and avoid walking during the hottest part of the day.
