The Musical Fence in Winton, Queensland, is a unique installation that transforms a wire fence into a giant musical instrument. Designed by percussionist and composer Graeme Leak, it was unveiled in July 2003 as the world's first permanent musical fence. Located behind the Diamantina Heritage Truck and Machinery Museum near the Industrial Estate, the fence features various percussion instruments made from recycled materials, offering an interactive experience for visitors of all ages. The Musical Fence is free to use and open 24 hours, inviting everyone to create their own music.
