Renamed in 1971 after Australia's 14th Prime Minister, John Curtin, the venue has long been a gathering spot for students, unionists, and music enthusiasts. The front bar features a dance floor, and the upstairs bandroom provides an intimate setting with an unobstructed view of the stage.
