The Competition Arena at Sydney Olympic Park is a premier athletic venue featuring a Class 1 IAAF-approved Rekortan M99 synthetic track, suitable for all athletic disciplines. The infield grassed area is a full-size playing field (108m x 72m) capable of hosting soccer, rugby union, rugby league, and American football games and training. The arena includes a 10m x 6m electronic video board, broadcast-level arena lighting, and meeting/function rooms. The 5,000-seat covered grandstand offers additional seating for up to 8,000 on the surrounding grassed banks.
