Southern Gulf NRM

Southern Gulf NRM, located at 112 Camooweal Street, Mount Isa, Queensland, is a community-based not-for-profit organization dedicated to sustainable natural resource management in the southern Gulf of Carpentaria region. Established in 2002, it collaborates with various stakeholders, including pastoralists, conservationists, local governments, and Indigenous communities, to enhance the region's natural resources. Key focus areas encompass weed management, grazing and rangeland management, biodiversity conservation, and community engagement. Notably, Southern Gulf NRM has been instrumental in developing the North West Queensland Regional Biosecurity Plan, uniting ten councils to address weed and pest management collaboratively.
