Pyap is a charming locality in South Australia's Riverland region, situated on the south bank of the Murray River, approximately 7 km downstream from Loxton. Established in 1894 as a Village Settlement, it encompasses both flat riverfront land and elevated areas. The arid environment supports thriving vineyards and orchards, irrigated by the river. Accessible via Kingston Road from Loxton, Pyap lies at the junction with the Stott Highway towards Swan Reach. Notably, the writer and ethnographer Daisy Bates resided in a tent in Pyap during the 1930s.
