The Pleasant Hills Community Hotel, established between 1917 and 1918, serves as a central hub for the village of Pleasant Hills. During weekdays, it operates as a post office and small store, offering groceries, ice cream, milk, and hot food. On weekends, the hotel transforms into a lively gathering spot, serving cold drinks and takeaway meals like fish and chips and hamburgers on Friday evenings, and counter meals on Saturday afternoons. Sunday evenings feature country-style cooking prepared by local volunteers. The hotel also provides accommodation with six rooms, catering to small groups. As New South Wales' first community-owned hotel, it stands as a testament to the village's strong community spirit.
