The New Mapoon Indigenous Knowledge Centre, located at 60 Brown Street, serves as a cultural hub for the New Mapoon community. Established in 2002, it was the first Indigenous Knowledge Centre in the Northern Peninsula Area and the fourth in Queensland. The centre houses a local history collection that includes material from all five Northern Peninsula Area communities: Bamaga, Injinoo, New Mapoon, Seisia, and Umagico. The centre is open Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.
