
The Mortlake Ferry, also known as the Putney Punt, is a historic cable ferry crossing the Parramatta River between Hilly Street in Mortlake and Pellisier Road in Putney. Operating since 1928, it is the only remaining vehicular cable ferry in Sydney. The ferry accommodates up to 18 cars and offers a five-minute crossing. On weekdays, it operates on demand from 6:45 to 9:25 AM and 2:45 to 6:15 PM; on weekends and public holidays, it runs continuously from 10:30 AM to 5:30 PM from Mortlake. The service is free of charge, providing a convenient and scenic route for both locals and visitors.
