Located at 42-68 Palmer Street in South Townsville, the Maritime Museum of Townsville showcases the region's rich maritime heritage. Established in 1986, the museum features a diverse collection of artefacts, including model ships, navigation equipment, and shipwreck objects. Notably, it houses the Bay Rock Lighthouse, relocated in 1992, and the HMAS Townsville, one of only two preserved naval Fremantle-class patrol boats in Australia. Exhibits also highlight the Port of Townsville's development and Townsville's role during the world wars. The museum is open Monday to Saturday, with varying hours.
