Situated at elevations between 300 and 480 meters above sea level, the reserve features extensive woodlands and shrublands, including York and salmon gum woodlands and dense Acacia thickets. It serves as a habitat for vulnerable species such as the malleefowl, regent parrots, rufous treecreepers, and western yellow robins. The reserve is managed by the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions.
