Julia Creek is a vibrant outback town in Queensland's McKinlay Shire, serving as the region's business hub. Located on the Overlander’s Way, it lies approximately 650 km west of Townsville and 250 km east of Mount Isa. The town offers a range of accommodations, including the award-winning Julia Creek Caravan Park, which provides powered sites, self-contained cabins, and twin-single units. Visitors can enjoy amenities such as free Wi-Fi, cruiser bikes, and the unique Artesian Bath Experience. From June through September, the park hosts popular Monday Night Bush Dinners, featuring local produce and community storytelling.
