Humpty Doo Hotel

Established in 1971, the Humpty Doo Hotel is one of the Northern Territory's longest continually licensed premises. Surviving Cyclone Tracy in 1974, it has become a local icon, inspiring songs like "The Man from Humpty Doo" by Ted Egan and Slim Dusty's "Humpty Doo Waltz." The hotel features a bar with open walls, a concrete floor, and an iron roof, hosting live music acts regularly. Accommodations include renovated motel rooms and deluxe cabins, complemented by a swimming pool and guest barbecue area. The bistro offers a menu highlighting local produce, including the renowned Territory Trio Sliders featuring buffalo, crocodile, and local fish. The expansive beer garden provides a relaxed atmosphere for socializing and community events. Located on the Arnhem Highway, it's a popular stop for travelers heading to Kakadu National Park.
