The Bottle House Museum in Lightning Ridge is a unique structure and an intriguing example of innovative architecture. Originally a miner's camp, the Bottle House now houses an astonishing collection of artefacts and other items of interest. Created in the 1960s, it is made out of bottles from a tiny town called Hebel, which is just over the border in Queensland. Originally made using cement to weld the bottles together. The builder was later to learn that the local clay was best to use, as it was easier to replace any bottle that broke.
