Australian Parachute Federation

The Australian Parachute Federation (APF) serves as the peak body for the administration, regulation, and representation of Australian sport parachuting. It promotes skydiving, maintains high safety standards, and enhances the sport's quality to encourage participation and excellence. Operating under the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA), the APF sets operational standards, conducts competitions, issues licenses, certifications, and instructor ratings, and distributes publications to keep members informed. The APF office is located in Brisbane, Queensland, and is supported by volunteers at local and state levels. It is affiliated with the Fédération Aéronautique Internationale through the Australian Sport Aviation Confederation and International Skydiving Commission. The APF administers the sport of parachuting through a Deed of Agreement with CASA, assisting with safety and surveillance duties and controlling parachute rigger and packer standards in Australia. Membership benefits include the right to skydive in Australia, liability insurance, representation, information, and standards setting.
