Narran Lake Nature Reserve, established in October 1988, spans 26,480 hectares in north-western New South Wales. This Ramsar-listed wetland is renowned for its diverse habitats, including expansive lignum shrublands and river red gum woodlands. The reserve serves as a crucial breeding and feeding ground for numerous waterbird species, such as straw-necked ibises, cormorants, and pelicans. Access is restricted to protect nesting birds, with public entry limited to special open days. The reserve is jointly managed by the Yuwaalaraay/Euahlayi people and the National Parks and Wildlife Service.
