Mount Palmer, established in 1934 following a gold discovery, flourished with over 500 residents and amenities like hotels, a bakery, and boarding houses. The town's prosperity was closely tied to the Mount Palmer Gold Mine, which operated until 1944. After the mine's closure, the town was abandoned, leaving behind remnants of its once-thriving community. Today, visitors can explore the deserted streets, view the ruins of the hotel, and visit the cemetery, offering a glimpse into the area's rich mining history.
