Caroona Creek Conservation Park

Caroona Creek Conservation Park, established in 2010, spans 5,422 hectares on the western edge of the Olary Plain, approximately 6 km east of Hallett. The park features diverse landscapes, including steep rocky ridges, calcrete hills, and alluvial plains, representing the transitional zone between the Mid North and the Flinders Ranges. Notably, the northern area encompasses the rugged terrain of Tourilie Gorge. The Heysen Trail traverses the park, offering hikers access to its unique natural beauty. The park is home to 92 bird species, including the Wedge-tailed Eagle, Nankeen Kestrel, and Brown Treecreeper. Camping facilities are available, with a large shed, campsite, water, and toilet facilities at the main campground. Please note that campfires are not permitted; gas fires are recommended for cooking.
