The Anglo-Australian Telescope (AAT), a 3.9-meter optical telescope, is situated at Siding Spring Observatory near Coonabarabran, New South Wales. Operated by the Australian National University on behalf of a consortium of 13 Australian universities, the AAT has been a cornerstone of Australian astronomy since its inauguration in 1974. Its exceptional optics and mechanical stability have enabled significant contributions to our understanding of the cosmos. The telescope's location at an altitude of 1,165 meters provides optimal conditions for astronomical observations.
