Cabbage Tree Creek Flora Reserve, located near Orbost in East Gippsland, is a 1,700-hectare sanctuary dedicated to preserving Victoria's only population of Cabbage Palms (Livistona australis). Discovered by botanist Baron von Mueller in 1854, this unique reserve offers a serene environment for nature enthusiasts. Visitors can enjoy a short, pleasant walk along the Cabbage Palm Walking Track, where sightings of lyrebirds and other native species are common. The area also features picnic tables and an information board, making it an ideal spot for relaxation and birdwatching.
