Established in 1905, the Old Kooroongarra Town Centre is a historic landmark in Kooroongarra, Queensland. Once a bustling hub with a dairy co-operative, butcher shop, general store, cheese factory, post office, saddler, blacksmith, boarding house, and the manager's residence, it now serves as a community centre and tourist destination. In 2021, Brisbane resident Suzy Shepherd revitalized the site to honor its rich heritage and provide a place of rest for visitors. The town's name, derived from Aboriginal words, means "resting place for birds" and "water."
