The Desert Knowledge Precinct, located 9 kilometers south of Alice Springs, is a 73-hectare hub fostering learning, knowledge sharing, and collaboration. Established in 2006, it operates under an Indigenous Land Use Agreement with the Arrernte people. The Precinct houses key partners such as Desert Knowledge Australia, Batchelor Institute of Indigenous Tertiary Education, and the Centre for Appropriate Technology. It also features the Desert People's Centre, supporting positive outcomes for Indigenous Australians through education and training. Notably, the DKA Solar Centre, the world's largest multi-technology solar demonstration facility, supplies approximately 40% of the Precinct's annual power consumption.
